Long term tests

Nissan Navara

Towing a trailered Peugeot was the ultimate test for the Navara

I’ve driven some fairly hairy cars but never have I concentrated more than when I first drove the Navara with the trailer attached and my rally Pug on the back.

It was dark, wet and windy, and the Nissan’s front tyres were light on grip because of the ton of spares in the back. It all combined to impart the terrifying sensation that there was some really bad rear-wheel-steer going on. There was also the distinct possibility that the tail might start wagging the dog at any moment. Driving through a forest seemed easy after that.
