Overfinch London Edition Range Rover celebrates the capital's skyline

Unique special edition shows off the customisation talents of the renowned Range Rover tuner

Overfinch, one of the longest running customisers of Land Rover's Range Rover products, has produced a one-off model to showcase the company's scope for unique craftsmanship.

With a name like London Edition, it's also a celebration of one of the world's most recognisable city skylines, with several of the city's famous buildings represented in intricate details throughout the Range Rover's interior.

Based on a Range Rover Autobiography Long Wheelbase - and powered by the brand's 5-litre supercharged V8 - the London Edition's most striking features can be found across the cabin's wooden trim elements.

5500 individual pieces of veneer, Abalone shell and stainless steel have been arranged to form some of London's most iconic buildings, including the Houses of Parliament, the Shard, the London Eye, the Gherkin and Tower Bridge - as well as distinctive details like small red buses.

Work on the individual burr walnut interior panels took 250 hours, and many hundreds more went into the rest of Overfinch's changes, such as machined sill plates and an insert for the rotary transmission dial - and of course, the car's exterior trim.

The Overfinch London Edition includes a carbonfibre grille, new tailpipes (finishing off a Bluetooth-controlled exhaust system), a styling kit and the obligatory Overfinch lettering, while the bodywork wears a coat of Balmoral Blue paintwork.

While undoubtedly an acquired taste (and staggeringly expensive at £249,990), it's an impressive display of craftsmanship - and illustrative of the lengths firms like Overfinch now have to go to to differentiate their products from the extensive personalisation options now offered as standard on many vehicles.
