Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 - an F-150 Raptor for the clinically bored

American tuner Hennessey creates the ultimate take on Ford's fastest truck

If one of your friends has recently bought a Mercedes-AMG G63 6x6 and you wish to make them feel inadequate? Is subtlety an alien concept to you? Are four wheels simply a couple of wheels short of perfection?

If you answered yes to one or more of those questions then Hennessey Performance has created the car for you, in the form of its new Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6.

Based on the Ford F-150 Raptor - albeit slightly more loosely than Hennessey's standard VelociRaptor - the 6x6's most striking addition is of course that extra axle and its corresponding pair of 20-inch wheels and off-road tyres.

There's a 6x6 locking axle setup to maximise traction in the rough too, while upgraded Fox suspension at each wheel should make it all the more capable. There's a new bumper at each end, a sturdy roll bar that spans the length of the roof, and an additional collection of LED lights along the roof.

Should the standard VelociRaptor's performance not be enough, a '600' twin turbocharged upgrade is also available, bumping power up to more than 600bhp. It features upgraded twin turbochargers, a new stainless steel exhaust, an improved air-to-air intercooler and a tweaked ECU.

None of this comes cheap. The VelociRaptor 6x6 begins at $295,000 and cranking the power up to 600bhp adds a further $22,500 to that figure, but given the G63 6x6 cost around £370,000 at launch there may be some out there who consider it a six-wheeled steal.
