evo’s favourite videos – thank you for 400,000 YouTube subscribers

evo’s Youtube page has hit another milestone

Four hundred thousand people. That’s a hard number to quantify without some kind of comparison. It’s more people than the population of Wiltshire, for example. Or Brunei.

It’s also how many subscribers evo’s YouTube channel now has. It’s staggering – and humbling – to think that our videos can reach hundreds of thousands of people in a single throw.

As a thank-you, we’ve decided to bring together five of our favourite videos in one place. This is what evo is all about.

Ultimate drag race

We couldn’t resist including this – it’s our most-viewed video ever, with over 2.5 million views. And why not? Four of the fastest saloons of the time square up at the foot of an empty runway. Watch the video to see the result.

Ferrari F12 group test

Three V12 supercars and an empty road in Italy. As Henry Catchpole says, it’s the sort of test you dream about. But not before an indulgent first minute with nothing but the scream of a trio of V12s…

McLaren P1 v Porsche 918 Spyder

Unfortunately, pulling together all three of the world’s hybrid hypercars has been rather difficult. But we’ve had at least two, and tested them back-to-back on track.

Lamborghini Huracan

If you were in any doubt as to the draw of Sant’Agata’s supercars, our first taste of the Lamborghini Huracan has earned over 900,000 views in under a year. Find out what we think in the video.

Mclaren F1 v P1

Yes, it’s another McLaren P1 review. Okay, that’s fairly exciting on its own. But paired with its F1 predecessor – already rated highly in our analogue supercars test – it’s already become one of our favourite videos.

evo's own memories

Film maker Sam Riley has listed a few stand out behind the scenes moments that have truly stood out to him over the years at evo.

'Skoda Octavia vRS fastest stock engine sedan tearing past in the Bonneville Salt Flats'

'Time lapsing the sunset while listening to a Boxster GTS scream up Sa Calobra Mallorca'

Jethro Bovingdon has some special memories too.

'991 GT3 first drive in Austria. We drove for hours to get to that mountain but it was worth it. A proper Evo story.'

Richard Meaden won't ever forget his time with the current-gen hypercars.

'Shooting the P1 under floodlights at Yas Marina, and having to do the in-car piece to camera in one take was pretty stressful, but unforgettable. Doing the same thing with LaFerrari at Fiorano a few months later was even more stressful, but even more special...'

And finally, editor Nick Trott.

Best Motoring. Jethro's stall that never made it to the final edit, and Dickie 'Minnie Mouse' Meaden.
