Porsche 911 2.7 RS conversion kit

How to turn a 964 generation Porsche 911 into a gorgeous 2.7 RS replica

DP Motorsport is offering a styling kit for those who want their Porsche 964 to look like an earlier 1973 911 2.7 RS. It's for those who can't quite stretch to a Singer 911...

The retro kit includes new body panels, such as new front and rear bumpers, bonnet, front fenders, side sills, specific front and rear lights, side mirrors and of course the legendary ducktail rear spoiler. The asking price for the kit unpainted is 6828 euros (or about £5800). Customers can opt for 17in Fuchs wheels for an extra 2236 euros (or about £1900).

DP Motorsport also offers a performance package, lifting the power of the 3.6-litre flat-six from 247 to 276bhp by fitting a K&N filter, a new exhaust and catalytic converter. There are no official performance figures but since a factory-spec 964 Carrera 2 is capable of 0-62 in 5.7sec and a top speed of 162mph, DP Motorsport’s conversion should hit 62mph in the low fives with a top speed closer to 170mph. The German tuner also offers new suspension, ABS, brakes and air conditioning for those who wish to fully modernise under the skin while remaining nostalgic on the outside.
