The new issue of evo debates whether Porsche's Cayman S - and its increasing wealth of talents - is now good enough to eclipse the Porsche 911, the brand's headline car since its creation over 40 years ago.
A £44K Cayman S boasts 237bhp-per-ton, hits 60mph in 5.2sec and tops out at 172mph. A 911 Carrera costs nigh on £18K more, yet it improves these figures by just 8bhp, 0.4sec and 8mph respectively. The Cayman is also a mid-engined car which many argue has more poise and balance as a result, relegating the 911 to also-ran status.
