M5 Hurricane

G-Power tuned BMW M5 is world's fastest four-door saloon

Meet the G-Power M5 Hurricane RS. A tongue-twister of a name, but a simple concept to get around: at 227.25mph, it's the world's fastest saloon car.

It has taken the fast four-door honours from under the nose of the V12 Brabus Rocket (which is based on the Mercedes-Benz CLS) that had set the record at 225.2mph. The loony-tuned BMW M5 has snatched the title thanks to some hardcore tweaks: twin-turbos have been placed on the M-division car's 5-litre V10, boosting its power by almost 50 per cent to 740bhp.

The standard car (which is electronically limited to 155mph) manages north of 200mph when it's let off its reins, but the pair of aftermarket blowers and the resulting 240bhp boost are enough to take the Hurricane RS beyond Pagani Zonda and Ferrari 599 territory.
