BMW Z4 sDrive35is Mille Miglia

Special edition BMW Z4 roadster celebrates record breaking Mille Miglia victory

BMW has revealed a limited edition Z4 roadster. Called the Mille Miglia, there are no prizes for guessing what event it celebrates. More precisely, this Z4 marks the 70 years since BMW’s win at the famous road race in 1940, when a 328 Kamm Coupe set a record 103mph average speed, which is unsurpassed. Shame it’s not as exciting as it perhaps could be, then. Under the skin it’s a Z4 sDrive35is, the newly launched Z4 range-topper. That does mean a twin-turbo straight six engine with 335bhp and 369lb ft of torque (and a mightily impressive 4.8sec sprint to 60mph), but purely visual changes don’t seem quite in keeping with the Mille Miglia name. It’s a smart thing, though, with an M aerodynamic kit, matte white paint, grey 19in alloys and some contrasting black exterior details. Inside there’s Alcantara and leather aplenty, as well as the inevitable special edition badging. Just 99 will be made, and they’ll be sold exclusively in Italy. Read our review of the regular BMW Z4 sDrive35is See how we’re getting along with our long-term Z4
