Ruf's 911 Turbo

Ruf refreshes its Porsche 911 Turbo based Rt 12 S supercar; 676bhp and 224mph

Ruf’s reputation is building at an increasing rate. Joining its ever expanding range of Porsche-based supercars is this, the Rt 12 S.

It’s a fettled version of its 997 Turbo based Rt 12, with its straight six twin-turbocharged engine seeing power boosted from 641bhp to 676bhp. That’s more than a Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera GT or Pagani Zonda F, and alongside a fairly potent 649lb ft of torque, is enough to see the Ruf onto a 224mph maximum speed.

It gets lightweight 19in forged alloys as well as an aero friendly body kit, with a number of extra air ducts and a carbonfibre rear spoiler.

While the car is four-wheel drive as standard, you can specify yours with power just to the rear wheels if you wish, while carbon ceramic brakes, hydraulically adjustable suspension and a host of custom interior and exterior tweaks make up the other tickable boxes on the options list.

If you fancy one, then you’ll have to factor in a bit more expense than a stock Porsche 911 Turbo will set you back – 255,900 euros, or around £220K at current exchange rates. Try going quicker for much less brand new, though, and you might have a job on your hands…
