No Bugatti at Frankfurt

The all-new Bugatti supercar won't be getting its unveil at Frankfurt motor show

New Bugatti supercar

As another new car is confirmed for September’s Frankfurt motor show, one potentially huge debutant appears to have bowed out.

Bugatti’s new supercar was due to make its big appearance at the German show, after an owners-only event at which current Veyron drivers got to have a sneak peek at their potential new car.

This teaser shot is a scan from one of those invites, and despite its murkiness, it reveals a number of interesting details including boomerang rear lights, twin quad-exhausts and a vertical strip third brake light, housed by a sculptured line reminiscent of the luxurious Bugatti Atlantique coupe of the 1930s.

It’s expected to be a super fast and super luxurious saloon with a very potent powerplant up front.

We won’t know for certain for some time yet, though, with Bugatti saying that the exclusive pre-Frankfurt reveal will be it for now, as reaction is gauged before a full-on public reveal in the future. At another major motor show (such as Geneva 2010), perhaps.

If you’re craving a new Bugatti soon then fear not, as rumour has it another special edition Veyron will grace America’s Pebble Beach Concours event next month. Excellent.
