Porsche GT2 RS & Audi R8 GT

New pictures of Germany's hardest supercars. Full gallery here. Which is your favourite?

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS and the Audi R8 GT – two of the latest hardcore supercars that 2010 has been unexpectedly abundant in. It’d be understandable if you were expecting a barren year for OTT sports cars; high power, low practicality machines that sit uncomfortably in a recovering car market. Happily, the tougher R8 and 911 join the new Lamborghini Superleggera and Ferrari 599 GTO in hiking power and cutting weight over their base cars.  Headline figures? The Porsche produces 611bhp and 516lb ft, hits 62mph in 3.5sec and goes on to a 205mph maximum. The Audi’s maximum power and torque are 552bhp and 398lb ft. It gets to 62mph a smidge slower at 3.6sec, and stops accelerating at 199mph. On top of all that, though, they both boast more dramatic styling. Peruse the gallery below and pick your faovurite… Click for more information and pictures of the GT2 RS Click for more information and pictures of the R8 GT
