Jethro Bovingdon drifts a 997 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Watch Jethro Bovingdon drift a SharkWerks Porsche 911 GT3 RS through LA canyon roads

'Jethro's up to his old tricks again' was all we needed to be told in evo Towers to know that somewhere, contributing editor Bovingdon was going very, very sideways.

Turns out it was in an LA canyon road, closed to the public for a forthcoming feature for evo Magazine. The car in question was a 997 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, painted in vibrant blue and orange colours.

The car is a SharkWerks prepped Porsche, a Northern California based tuning company responsible for unleashing massive power and sharpened handling from a raft of already capable Porkas.

This is certainly not the first time an evo writer has gone sideways in a 911 GT3 RS, far from it in fact. We've been drifting GT3 RSs for years, with a recent example illustrated in the gallery above. But as the video shows, it never, ever gets boring.

It also could get a whole lot more exciting, as rumours of a 500+bhp 911 GT3 RS due for arrival in 2015 have been circulating for some time. You can read about the forthcoming car here.
