Peugeot 207RC: French GTI beater

First images yet of a totally undisguised prototype of the new Peugeot 207 RC the replacement of the 206 RC which was powered by a two-litre 180-bhp 4-cylinder petrol engine

Though a breakdown forced the car pictured here to be towed by a standard 207, these are the first images yet of a totally undisguised prototype of the new Peugeot 207 RC, the replacement of the 206 RC which was powered by a two-litre 180-bhp 4-cylinder petrol engine and was capable of doing up to 220 km/h and a sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. We expect the new one to make use of the same engine and reaching similar speeds and times. In any case, the car will be launced at the Paris Motor Show in September this year.
