evo and Royal College of Art students find the Nissan GT-R of 2030

What will 2030's Nissan GT-R look like? Perhaps one of these students has already designed it...

One year ago, evo teamed up with the Royal College of Art in London and its students to design an ‘evo Car of the Future’.

The success of that competition – won by young designer Tom Henwood – has led to an all-new competition for 2015. This time, the aim was to interpret and design the Nissan GT-R of 2030.

Nissan’s ‘Godzilla’ GT-R is already a storming performance car in 2015, and students have carefully considered how the car might change given another 15 years of technology and development.

The shortlist has now been decided, with Minwoo Choi, Charlie Purvis, Sangmin Lee, Tom Ellis, Ni Tao, David Táboras Martelo de la Maza and James Owen’s designs all being chosen – but as with last year we want to hear what evo readers think of the students’ designs.

You can do so by heading to evo’s Facebook page and voting on the GT-R you like best by clicking the Like button. It’s that simple, and while we can’t guarantee 2030’s Nissan GT-R will look anything like the students’ designs – but you could help a talented young designer reach their dream job – and lead them on a path to design the cars of tomorrow.
