evo Track Evenings, sponsored by TW Steel

evo's 2014 track evenings, sponsored by TW Steel, have offered a great opportunity for enthusiasts to drive on track. Gallery and overview here

One of the best ways to properly experience The Thrill of Driving is to take your car on track. No tractors, MPVs or cyclists to worry about, it’s just you, your car and the smooth surface of a racing circuit to contend with.

evo’s 2014 Track Days have certainly not disappointed, giving driving enthusiasts the chance to share that tarmac with other readers and evo road testers alike, discussing braking points and lift off oversteer as tyre pressures stabilised and brake pads cooled.

Thanks to sponsorship from TW Steel, evo Track Days are widely recognised as some of the best track events in the world. TW Steel has a strong involvement in world class motorsport, supporting some of the fastest rising racing stars and designing watches to emulate its passion for the sport. Those who love driving often know that TW Steel associated events are therefore as good as it gets.

Hosted on one of the UK’s premiere racing venues, Bedford Autodrome’s challenging and incredibly fast GT circuit, the evenings provide a mixture of technical sections to test traction and long straights to tickle rev limiters, with all 4.1 miles of the GT circuit requiring focus and rewarding commitment.

The circuit also does a good job of testing cars of all stature, with recent evenings seeing machinery as varied as a Skoda Octavia vRS estate laying down rubber with a Ferrari F430 Spider and a TVR Chimaera. Even some of our own evo long termers have been sent hurtling down the back straight, Nick Trott’s McLaren MP4-12C being amongst the fastest and Jethro Bovingdon’s own track-spec 911 Carrera bringing some of the biggest black lined contributions to the circuit...

With these evo events taking place throughout the year, there’s no easier way to follow in the tyre tracks of world renowned road testers for less money than a normal track day. And with the latest event having been such a success, we’re already looking ahead to plan our next session. Until then, have a look through the gallery on the right to view some of our favourite pictures from evo Track Days in 2014.
