BMW M240i M Performance Edition showcases styling upgrades

New BMW M240i M Performance Edition features the whole catalogue of M Performance accessories

BMW has just shown off images of the new M240i M Performance Edition, a limited-edition model that features a host of BMW M Performance styling upgrades. Limited to 750 cars, the Performance Edition is based on the recently revised M240i, and shares its turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six engine producing 335bhp and 369lb ft.

The M Performance edition is available exclusively in Alpine White and differs from the standard M240i with a revised front apron and splitter, black kidney grills, deeper black side skirts, a partially painted rear diffuser and carbon fibre wrapped tail pipe finishers, wing mirrors and rear lip spoiler.

BMW has also fitted a new set of two-tone forged 19-inch alloy wheels, running 225/35 R19 front and 255/30 R19 rear tyres.

Inside, an Alcantara M Performance steering wheel with a red centre band brightens up the standard interior, although does without the carbonfibre detailing seen in larger 4-series M Performance models. Available in 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic form, the coupe is also available with xDrive all-wheel drive and in automatic guise will hit 62mph in just 4.4 seconds.

Alongside these M Performance upgrades, the Edition model shares the same styling and interior updates as the normal 2-series, with new LED lights front and rear, upgraded i-Drive infotainment, black panel dials and a reprofiled dashboard.

These styling upgrades are also available separately via the BMW M Performance options list and have been developed alongside the standard car to add a bit of extra visual punch compared to the standard M240i. Available from July, the M Performance Edition is yet to be priced for the UK.
