evo 216 on sale now!

The new issue of world’s greatest performance car magazine is on sale now

The wait is over, evo’s biggest test of the year is here and the 2015 evo Car of the Year has been crowned. If you’ve been following our introduction to 2015’s eCOTY finalists, you’ll know just how strong the group of cars we had gathered for this year’s supertest was, which made voting for a winner an even tougher task than usual.

Lamborghini Aventador SV or Lotus Evora 400? Honda Civic Type R or Ferrari’s new turbocharged 488 GTB? The mind blowing McLaren 675 LT or Peugeot’s best hot hatch for a generation? Mercedes-AMG GT S, Seat’s Leon Cupra Ultimate Sub8 or the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28? Or perhaps it will come down to the battle of Weissach as Porsche Motorsport’s Cayman GT4 and 911 GT3 RS go head-to-head. Picking a winner in 2015 was no easy task.

Such an incredibly strong group of cars demanded an extraordinary test route, which is why we headed to the sensational North Coast 500 for a week of back-to-back driving that makes evo’s Car of the Year test second to none. These elements combined to produce an eCoty like no other, played out on some of the most challenging and toughest roads we’ve ever driven painted across the most breath taking landscape we have encountered. This is eCoty at its very best.

In issue 216 you can read about the year’s biggest adventure, and agree or disagree with our verdict before planning your own North Coast 500 adventure. Trust us, you won’t regret it.

The new issue of evo goes beyond eCoty, too. Jethro Bovingdon tracked down an example of the legendary R33 Nissan Skyline Nismo 400R, Dan Prosser has driven McLaren’s new 570S for the first time and Adam Towler gets behind the wheel of Ferrari’s new 488 Spider.

We’ve pitted Mercedes-AMG’s new C63 estate against Audi’s RS4 Avant, and Richard Meaden lined up on the grid with Jethro Bovingdon, Le Mans and Daytona 24 Hour winner Andy Wallace and Sebring 12hr victor Marino Franchitti to celebrate 40 years of Renault’s one-make race series success with a race in four generations of the company’s racing heroes.

Talking of heroes, we’ve also sat down with 2015’s race driver of the year, Le Mans 24 Hour winner and leading light in the art of buying old pick-ups to rag round a field with your mates: Nick Tandy.

Inside issue 216 you’ll also find our must-read guide to owning your first supercar, a buying guide to BMW’s M135i and our choice of £10,000 evo performance cars. Plus, there’s also the latest news including a breakdown of BMW’s new M2 and Ferrari’s F12tdf, and first drives of Nissan’s GT-R Track Edition and DMS’s 732bhp BMW M5.

Of course the new issue also includes our regular columnists Richard Porter, Richard Meaden and Dario Franchitti and the latest updates from our expansive Fast Fleet including the introduction to our new Volkswagen Golf R.

evo issue 216 is on sale now in all leading newsagents.
