Lexus CT200h F-Sport revealed

Lexus unveils its upgraded CT200h hybrid hot hatch in IS-F and LFA inspired F-Sport trim

Lexus has introduced an F-Sport package for its new CT200h hybrid, in an attempt to make the new hatchback’s image more sporting. Launched at the Australian Motor Show this week, it comprises a revised body kit, bigger alloys, tinted glass, new interior trim, a thicker steering wheel and new pedals. There is also the addition of a new colour, the Lexus IS-F inspired Flame Blue. Worryingly though, no mechanical upgrades have been announced, so the performance figures look set to remain at a fairly leisurely 10.3sec 0-60mph time and a 118mph top speed. As well as this, the press release talks about ‘Lexus’s commitment to hybrid vehicles’ and its ‘real world hybrid advantage’, not exactly what you want to hear from a hot hatch-esque upgrade, and surprising when you consider the firm’s recent success with the revised IS-F sports saloon and LFA supercar. Video of the Lexus LFA and its amazing noise here. Rumours still circulate about a turbocharged version of the Lexus CT200h, the shot in the arm it requires to better its BMW 1-series and Audi A3 rivals. Click here to read our Lexus CT200h review What do we think of the Lexus IS F-Sport? Long-term review of the mighty Lexus IS-F
