Valentino Balboni launches Aventador SV exhaust

Legendary test driver turns his hand to tuning

Valentino Balboni hasn’t been Lamborghini’s test driver since 2008, but after forty years service with the company his name is inexorably linked with Sant’Agata’s supercars.

That should continue for some time too, as Balboni has now launched the VB brand, whose first offering is a titanium exhaust for the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV.

There are no details on how much power the system might add to the SV’s 740bhp output, but we do know the system weighs only 6.3kg, and is crafted from grade 2 titanium. The mounts are titanium too, and the whole thing has been TIG welded by hand – each taking 350 hours to produce.

While demand may be high, supply will not: only 30 units will be made, and it’s hard not to imagine the system adding a significant figure to the Aventador’s already hefty price tag.

We’re sure to see more from the brand however, and more details should be announced when the exhaust system is officially unveiled at the upcoming Concorso Italiano on August 20, during the Monterey car week.
