Alfa Romeo 4C tuned by Pogea

Pogea Racing is first to reveal a tuned Alfa Romeo 4C, with butcher looks and 410bhp

The first tuned Alfa Romeo 4C has appeared. Pogea Racing has revealed its plans to tweak the mid-engine, rear-drive Italian sports car before it has even launched.

Grabbing the headlines are rather stocky power and torque increases, the 1.7-litre four-cylinder turbo engine’s standard 237bhp and 258lb ft outputs rising to around 410bhp and 332lb ft, which should be enough to shove the 4C’s performance firmly into supercar territory.

The extra power – a rise of over 72 per cent – comes courtesy of a new turbocharger and exhaust system (the latter boasting a ‘throaty sound’, we’re told), with a new, tubular exhaust manifold. Fuel and cooling supply methods are improved while the engine management is retuned. There will also be sportier KW suspension.

An exterior makeover includes carbonfibre adornments - a front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser, which also aid the aerodynamics - and a set of new ‘XCUT’ alloy wheels, available in 19 or 20in sizes.

More details will surely follow when the Pogea Racing Alfa 4C first hits the road – presumably after the standard car to avoid stealing its thunder. It’s a reasonably tasteful transformation, though, with neat new rear styling and a good impression of what an Alfa Romeo 4C GTA might look like.
