Suzuki Swift Sport review – the back-to-basics drivers' hatch - Design

Honest, simple and mature, the Swift Sport remains an affordable evo favourite. More standard kit ups value for money

  • Old-school pocket rocket
  • Less efficient than turbo rivals

Suzuki has kept the Swift Sport’s exterior suitably tame, adding sporty details rather than bulging arches to its body. The standard car is already handsome, but with multi-spoke 17-inch wheels and more aggressively styled bumpers, the differences are subtle but effective enough to set the Sport model apart from the rest of the range.

Our favourite features include the car’s small but prominent rear roof-spoiler, as well as the pair of exhaust tailpipes that poke out from either side of a rear valance.

Four exterior colours are available, with Cool White Pearl metallic and Boost Blue metallic (both pictured) popular picks. If there's one criticism, it's that the Swift's bulbous shape is now looking a little old next to some of its competitors. Thankfully, there's a new Swift on the way over the next year or two, which should sharpen Suzuki's supermini quite nicely.
