Nissan name change, Metro racing, Dodge Ram to be axed?

Nissan has changed the name of its Micra 160SR warm hatch to Sport SR and given it more equipment as part of a shake-up of the whole range. Complete with 16in alloys and automatic wipers and lights, prices for the Micra Sport SR start at £10,995.

TURBO Technics, the Northampton-based turbocharging specialist established by Geoff Kershaw, is 25 years old. Happy birthday!

PRODUCTION of the world’s fastest production pick-up, the 500bhp Dodge Ram SRT-10, could soon be at an end. Despite an enthusiastic reception from the press, only about 2000 a year are being sold.

THE Metro might not seem the most obvious candidate for a trackday special, but Talon Sportscars has developed a series of components for the plucky Brit, including a 160bhp K-series conversion, Quaife torque-biasing differential and uprated brakes. Call 01509 856888.

A CHARITY trackday is being held at Brands Hatch on September 4 in honour of Bob Maclaren, one of the team behind Circuit Driver, who died of cancer late last year. The Drive for Life Trackday costs £199 and proceeds will benefit several cancer hospitals. Details are at motorsportvision.co.uk.
