SEAT Leon ST Cupra Carbon Edition revealed for the UK

Limited to less than 50 units, the Leon ST Carbon Edition will top the current Cupra range

SEAT has released details on a new, limited edition version of its Leon ST Cupra estate. Featuring purely aesthetic upgrades, the Leon ST Cupra Carbon Edition adopts some of the styling elements from the wild Cupra R, but in a slightly more subtle package.

Changes include the fitment of the Cupra R’s 19-inch wheels finished in a black and bright silver, differing from the copper finish of the R, while the front, side and rear skirting has also been redesigned incorporating carbonfibre components. The changes are most obvious at the rear, where the ST picks up some new quad-tipped exhausts, sitting within a more aggressive carbonfibre diffuser section.

Under the bonnet, the standard Cupra 4’s powertrain is unchanged, so it’ll feature a 296bhp 2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, connected to a Haldex all-wheel drive system and six-speed DSG gearbox. Manual, and front-wheel drive options are not available, as on the standard Cupra estate.

The interior is also unchanged, other than the fitment of the Cupra R’s body-hugging bucket seats.

The new Carbon Edition is only available in one colour, Monsoon Grey, and will be limited to up to 50 units, says SEAT, which will make it a rare sight on the roads. Available to order now, the Cupra Carbon Edition will top the range with a price tag of just over £35k, around £2k more than the standard Cupra Estate.
