Renault F1 team survives

Renault's Formula 1 team will race in 2010 GPs after a buyout deal goes through

Renault Formula 1

Renault’s Formula 1 team has been saved. A majority buyout by Genii Capital, a Luxembourg-based investment firm, sees the French car company remain in F1 for next season at least. While Genii’s 75 per cent stake leaves Renault owning just a quarter, the two will share the running of the team while engines will still be supplied to Red Bull, too. A new team boss will enter the fray, replacing Bob Bell who was acting team principal in the closing stages of the 2009 season after the departure of Flavio Briatore. It’s uncertain whether newly-signed lead driver Robert Kubica will remain at Renault following the deal with Genii. Keep a track of the latest F1 news and 2010 grid line-up with evo Follow evo on Twitter or our Facebook page for the latest F1 news
