Porsche 918 Spyder prototype testing

Porsche has released images of its latest prototype 918 Spyder, which is undergoing final testing before entering production next year

Following the early tests of the 918 Spyder development mules, Porsche has unveiled a new ‘public’ prototype for the next phase of its development process – showing the car wrapped in a Le Mans 917-inspired camouflage.

When it's launched, Porsche’s super plug-in hybrid should be capable of 94mpg, a sub-3 second 0-60 time and a top speed of 202mph. The combination of combustion engine and two independent electric motors - one on the front axle and one in the driveline – will give the car a maximum of 759bhp.
