Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS is here

Porsche's 911 Targa 4 GTS makes its debut

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the original 911 Targa, Porsche has confirmed the current 991-generation 911 GTS will receive the same treatment as its Carrera S and Carrera 4 brothers.

In addition to Porsche's acrobatic electric Targa top, the 911 receives the usual GTS additions to separate it from lesser variations of the 911 range.

This includes 20-inch wheels, smoked bi-xenon headlights, a black intake grille and chrome plated exhaust tips. Inside, bespoke Alcantara and leather seats and a standard fit Sport Chrono Pack confirm the car's added sporting credentials.

The new Targa utilises power from the same 424bhp flat-six (up 30bhp from the standard Carrera S) to enable a 0-60mph time of 4.1sec and top speed of 186mph with the PDK 'box. Dynamic engine mounts and active suspension enhance the Targa GTS's driving characteristics.

Other additions mimic those found on the hard-top and cabriolet. Read more about them here.

Prices for the Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS start from £104,385. Sales commence from March 2015.
