Porsche 718 Style Edition gets white wheels and Ruby Star paint

The entry-level Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster have been given a makeover with the exclusive Style Edition

The Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster models are the most accessible in the brand's lineup, but they’ve gained some extra exclusivity in Style Edition form. Striking new colours, bold ‘contrast packages’ and more standard kit are all part of the offering, and order books are open now.

First featured on the iconic 964 Carrera RS, Ruby Star is one of Stuttgart’s most sought after paint shades. Though it’s usually available only through its exclusive Paint to Sample program, Porsche is now offering a new variation for the 718 Style Edition - Ruby Star Neo.

Alongside a host of other colour options, buyers can choose from one of two contrast packages, applying black or white trim, decals and wheels to the model. Bonnet stripes, Porsche lettering on the doors, unique badging at the rear and, most notably, either white or black wheels are part of the package. Both models also receive tasteful 20-inch wheels with coloured Porsche crest centre caps, an item previously exclusive to the 718 Spyder.

Look a little closer and you’ll spot a number of small tweaks, ranging from the black sport exhaust tips to the embossed ‘Boxster’ lettering in the soft top of the convertible model. Inside, the black leather upholstery features chalk contrast stitching, with illuminated stainless steel sills and Porsche crests on the headrests also making an appearance.

Based on the entry-level 2-litre boxer four-cylinder, the Style Edition features no performance uplift over the ordinary car – 296bhp and 280lb ft of torque send it from standstill to 62mph in 4.9sec and onto a 170mph top speed when equipped with the PDK transmission, although the specials come as standard with the six-speed manual.

Though they sit at the bottom of the range, Porsche has given the Style Edition models plenty of standard kit. Bi-Xenon headlights, front and rear ParkAssist, Apple CarPlay, a heated steering wheel, contrast-stitched floor mats and more are fitted at no cost, with further options also available to buyers.
