World’s first Porsche Classic Centre opens in Netherlands

100 new global centres for classic servicing and sales will open by 2018

Porsche has opened a new Classic Centre dedicated to the servicing and sales of its classic models in Arnhem, the Netherlands. The facility, which is the first of its kind for Porsche, can service, maintain and repair classic models, and is accompanied by a classic model showroom. The new Arnhem Centre is the first of 100 to be opened around the world in the coming years.

Currently, owners of classic Porsche models can take their cars to approved ‘Classic Porsche Partners’ for servicing – there are 24 of these across the world in countries like Germany, the UK, US and Japan. The arrival of Porsche’s official Classic Centres should bolster the accessibility of approved service locations, and increase the reach of Porsche’s supply of some 52,000 original spare parts.

Old models like the original 356, classic 911, 944 and first-gen Boxster can be catered for – Porsche says anything from regular serving to complete overhauls are possible. With a claimed 70 per cent of all production Porsches still on the road – many classic models have recently seen their values skyrocket - there’s certainly no shortage of demand for approved facilities like these.

Doors for Porsche’s first Classic Centre opened for business this morning. 99 more centres are due to be opened across the globe between now and 2018, comprised of purpose-built workshops and showrooms, as well as more Partner locations.
