Pagani Huayra supercar update

The latest news on the Pagani Huayra supercar plus pictures of a very special Zonda R

Pagani has just finished a world tour presenting its new Huayra model to potential customers, as well as displaying it at various prestigious events including Quail and Pebble Beach. The unique Pagani Zonda R pictured here (finished in gloss carbon, rather than matt) picked up a gong at Quail by winning ‘Best in Class’ in the Supercar section, a feat these pictures celebrate. It wasn’t all pain sailing for Pagani, though, as just before the Huayra reached America, a motoring website ran a story saying the Pagani Huayra would no longer be going on sale in the US. This was due to the company being refused a temporary exemption from the country’s advanced airbag requirements. evo then received communication from the factory to refute this story, saying Pagani realised some time ago it wasn’t going to gain a temporary exemption from this rule and had therefore been working on having advanced airbag management available on the Huayra in all markets.   As things currently stand today, Pagani expects to start US deliveries of the Huayra in late 2012/early 2013, which is a delay of only six months or so compared to original plans. evo also understands the first UK customer Huayra will be arriving with its lucky owner in early 2012.
