Nissan returns to Le Mans as LMP2 engine supplier

Nissan returns to the Le Mans 24 hours after agreeing a two-year deal to supply engines

Nissan has announced a two-year partnership with French-based Signature Racing to provide engines for its LMP2 programme. It will encompass the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, Sebring and the 24-hours of Le Mans. This is in addition to Nissan's GT1 programme with the GT-R, and it’s the first time the marque will be seen at La Sarthe since a one-engine supply deal in 2005 with Rollcentre Racing. However this time Nissan appears far more committed to the project and it could lead to a full-scale assault in the future.   Vincent Wijnen, Nissan Vice-President, Strategy and Marketing, said ‘Nissan is very happy to announce our new partnership with Signature and we look forward to working with such a professional and well respected team. I know our customers, fans and dealers will be following our progress when we start racing in March and will of course be anticipating our return to the Le Mans 24 hours.’
