Fuel technology
A bio-ethanol-fuelled Vauxhall Astra coupe made its BTCC debut at Croft on July 16/17. Developed by Triple Eight Race Engineering and funded by Motorsport Development UK's Energy Efficient Motorsport initiative, the Astra racer sips fuel made from vegetable matter such as crop residues. It came tenth in one of the races.
