Vencer Sarthe coming to Salon Prive

Dutch Supercar Vencer Sarthe to be revealed to the UK at Salon Privé 2013

The UK’s most prestigious car show, Salon Privé, has confirmed that the Dutch Supercar maker Vencer will reveal the Sarthe to the UK at September’s event. First unveiled at Top Marques earlier this year, the Sarthe aims to be an exclusive low-volume car that appeals to drivers with limited drivers aids and a manual gearbox.

Robert Cobben established Vencer in 2012, and the Sarthe is its first model. It uses a trusted power source; namely a mid-mounted General Motors LS3 V8 making 510bhp at 6000rpm and 480lb ft of torque at 4700rpm. A simple yet lightweight hybrid spaceframe chassis and carbon fibre body panels keep the weight below the 1400kg mark, leading to a 0-62mph time of 3.8sec and a claimed top speed the exciting side of 200mph.

The chassis is made from high-grade tubular steel complemented by a chrome-molybdenum safety structure and rear sub-frame. An aluminium honeycomb floor completes the structure. The suspension and dynamics are deliberately pure, with conventional double-wishbone suspension and driver aids limited to ABS and EBD.

Standard equipment includes the essentials: climate control, central locking and an alarm, plus a large LCD screen located in the centre console. On customer request the car can be equipped with additional features.

Salon Privé is entering its eighth consecutive year, and will be taking place from September 4 to 6 at West London’s Syon Park.
