Video: Carlos Sainz laps Sitges-Terramar circuit
Two-time WRC winner and DTM racer Carlos Sainz has taken to Europe’s second oldest racing circuit in an Audi R8, attempt to break the 80 year old lap record.
A one-off stunt set up by Red Bull has seen double WRC title winner Carlos Sainz driving an Audi R8 LMS car, in an attempt to break the lap record at the Spanish racing track, Autódromo de Sitges-Terramar, the second oldest circuit in Europe.
Sainz was joined by Miguel Molina and the pair took the race-prepared Audi R8 around the banked circuit, aiming to beat the official 45.8second lap record set by Louis Zborowski Miller in 1923.
