Snetterton revamp well underway

The diggers are in as Snetterton gets a winter makeover

Work on circuit alterations at Snetterton are coming on well as these images from Martin Brundle and Jonathan Palmer’s visit earlier this week show. When complete the alterations will extend the track to 2.99 miles in length and be known as the ‘300' circuit layout. Shorter two-mile (200) and one-mile (100) loops will also be used.

The first major event to take place on the 300 circuit is a double headline encounter from the British F3 and GT Championships in May, and this will be followed by the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, in August.

Jamie Hopper, Snetterton Circuit Manager, said: "2011 is an important year for Snetterton and we're particularly excited about the launch of our new 300 circuit, which will provide new challenges for drivers and increased excitement and viewing opportunities for spectators. With another busy calendar ahead, we hope to see plenty of fans enjoying our new track and its facilities this season."
