2011 Pirelli Calendar revealed

Next year's Pirelli Calendar has been released. Harry Metcalfe has a peek at months January to December.

At a glitzy launch event held in the Stanislavesky theatre in Moscow, Pirelli presented its legendary annual calendar to the world’s press. This year, the Pirelli calendar has been master-minded by multi-faceted fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld. His theme for this year’s Pirelli calendar is “Mythology”.

Unusually, the calendar was all shot in Karl Lagerfeld’s Paris studios with the help of 15 female models (including US actress Julianne Moore) and 5 male models (!) and includes 36 photos all reflecting Lagerfeld’s ‘love of Greek and Roman classic mythology’.

We do wonder if employees of all the Pirelli tyre depots around the globe will share Largerfeld’s love of classic mythology as this is a very different Pirelli calendar to the last few years more ‘risqué’ editions. Here are five images from this year’s calendar, let us know what you think!
