Insurer sets up a package to protect Brits who want to lap the Ring's Nordschleife

Anyone wanting to do some tourist laps of the Nürburgring can protect themselves against horrendous liability costs.

Even the smallest accidents suffered while attacking the Nordschleife can lead to shocking costs, with Nürburgrinf GmbH – owners of the track – keen to recover any damage costs, even for the smallest dings to the Armco barriers.

Nurburgmotorsport are now offering Brits the chance to cover themselves against unexpected bills for thousands of euros with an insurance package. It costs £99 for a day and eight laps, with an additional 35 euro (approx £30) half-hour inspection of your car required, too.

Despite the Ring being a public toll road, British insurers typically see it as a racetrack, meaning you won’t normally be covered by your own policy. This makes the new package a fairly good bet if you want to really give it some around the Nordschleife without fear of a crippling repair bill.
