German tuner reveals its tweaked 135i
BMW-tuner Hartge has revealed this, its fettled 135i coupe. The hot 1-Series is a car evo rates highly, and is already Cayman-quick.
Clearly Hartge thought there was room for improvement, however, hence this - the 345bhp, 354lb ft 135i that sprints to 62mph in 4.8sec. That's half a second quicker than the BMW's stock model, and just a tenth of a second behind an M3. It's all thanks to a trick ECU that enables the car's 3-litre engine to make the 44bhp leap in power.
The speed limiter has made an exit, meaning the Hartge tops out at 174mph rather than the traditional 155. An additional roof spoiler, chunkier bumpers, a rear diffuser and side sills aid the 1's aerodynamics while the sports suspension is lowered by 25mm to boost handling.
The changes, alongside some 20in alloys, take the 1-Series closer to this, the car we've been craving since it was revealed.
The price of a fully stocked Hartge 135i is c£38,000 in its native Germany, although each of the company's tweaks can be handily retro-fitted to standard 135's. Good news indeed.
