Invicta S1-600

A new 2+2 version of Wiltshire-based sports car firm Invicta’s supercharged S1-600 has been making its exhibition debut at the British International Motor Show. The grand tourer comes with a 5-litre Ford-derived V8 bored out to 5-litres from the naturally aspirated 4.6 and producing 600bhp.

The car on display features a raft of styling tweaks including lower straighter-edged sills, redesigned front grilles, a revised rear valance and new rear light clusters. Its impressive power figure - nearly twice that of the base-spec S1-320 – is reflected in the claimed performance figures. The 0-60 mph sprint is despatched in 3.8 seconds, 0-100mph takes 9.1 seconds and the top speed is said to be over 200mph.

The show also saw the UK debut of Invicta’s export model. The first LHD S1 is bound for Germany, while an official dealer has recently been appointed for the Benelux countries and negotiations are under way to establish importers elsewhere in Europe and beyond.

The car is positioned as a luxury GT, with 2 seater and 2+2 versions available. Both models can be specced to the customer’s bespoke requirements, but lashings of leather and brushed aluminium feature as standard along with sat nav, climate control and electrically adjusted seats. Extensive sound proofing and a spacious cabin are said to round off the car’s grand touring credentials.

The basic price for the RHD S1-600 is £150,000 (including VAT) with the 320 and 420bhp cars starting at £106,000 and £120,000 respectively.
