Vector returns... with Batmobile

1850bhp, 275mph+, $400,000… still want that Veyron?

Now, here’s a name from the past. Vector, which has never quite been able to crack the supercar market, is back for another go. And this time it’s serious (or at least it says it is).

Vector founder and current CEO Gerald Wiegert recently unveiled the company’s most extreme car yet, the HPRV, which stands for ‘Hyper-Performance Road Vehicle’.

On its apparently straight-faced website, Vector says it is planning to take on the Bugatti Veyron with the ultimate version of the HPRV, powered by a 10-litre twin-supercharged V8 that produces ‘up to 1850bhp and 1700lb ft of torque’.

Naturally the claimed performance figures are equally extraordinary. Top speed is said to be ‘over 275mph’, with a standing quarter in 10sec flat (at a terminal speed of 160mph) and a 0-60mph time of 2.5sec.

The price for all this performance? Around $400,000. For more entertainment check out Vector’s website, www.vectormotors.com
