Roadrazer: Roadrazer arrives

Danes build super-lightweight trackday car

There seems to be no end to the dedicated trackday cars people are prepared to develop, and this latest one, the RoadRazer, is from Denmark. It’s claimed to offer a ‘formula car driving experience’ thanks to its race-style suspension and bodywork, not to mention its 3.0sec 0-62mph time. It’s also available with mudguards and headlights for road use.

The RoadRazer makes extensive use of carbonfibre and carbonfibre / aluminium honeycomb for its monocoque and bodywork, which helps keep the weight down to an astonishing 300kg. Its engine is a dry-sumped 1.3-litre Suzuki Hayabusa unit producing 175bhp, paired with a six-speed sequential gearbox. A Quaife torque-sensing differential helps with traction.

Inside, the RoadRazer seats two in tandem, while the race-car effect is finished off by a tiny, flat-bottomed steering wheel, paddles for the gearshift, and digital instrumentation and data-logging.

Currently in development, the RoadRazer is expected to be on sale by the end of the year, priced at £35,000 fully built, or £19,900 as a kit, minus the bike parts and wheels. More details can be found at www.roadrazer.com
