evo Online Vacancy: Could you edit this website?

evo is looking for someone to edit its new website. Do you have the talent and skills to do the job?

evo home page

We're looking for a talented journalist to edit the recently relaunched evo website. You should have a good news sense, write accurate concise copy and understand what works online. An appreciation of unfeasibly fast cars - such as the Bugatti Veyron (0-60mph in 2.9 seconds) - won't be disadvantage either. The successful applicant will understand how to work with a content management system and be aware of how to interpret and respond to traffic statistics to increase the website's audience. The site depends on a healthy relationship with evo magazine - the UK's No. 1 performance car title - and the editor will be expected to work closely with the mag's editorial team to ensure that the brand's values and qualities are maintained online. The editor will also moderate the discussion groups and launch a new blogging channel - and create and maintain a daily motoring blog of their own. We're looking for someone with a creative instinct who's eager to conceive and complete original news, features, video and interactive content for the website. Be aware that some of the job involves uploading and finessing existing material so that it works to its best advantage online. As well as razor sharp copy editing and headline writing, applicants should have an understanding of HTML and solid Photoshop and InDesign skills. To apply please email mat_toor@dennis.co.uk with your CV and three sentences on why you think you are the best person for the job. We pay a competitive salary and offer a generous raft of benefits. You'll also probably enjoy the relaxed, editorial-friendly environment of one of the UK's leading independent publishers.
