Mansell at Le Mans

F1 legend Nigel Mansell is racing a Ginetta at Le Mans, sharing with his sons. How will he get on?

It's always great to see a legendary name come back to racing, even more so when it's someone we can get behind and cheer properly. Not Michael Schumacher, but Nigel Mansell. Ol' Nige, now 57, is racing a Ginetta-Zytek this year and will be tackling Le Mans, partnered by his sons Leo, 25, and Greg, 23.

He's unlikely getting in amongst the battle between Audi and Peugeot, but his LMP1 class 4.5-litre V8 GZ09S should be pretty competitive. The team skipped the last round of the Le mans Series at Spa-Francorchamps in order to concentrate on getting the car set-up right for Le Mans.

They ran pretty well in the first round at Paul Ricard, taking away 12 points for their eighth place finish. One things for sure, Nige will be a huge crowd-pleaser for the hordes of Brits who make the annual pilgrimage to Le Mans.
