Audi R8 Decennium revealed at Geneva 2019 to celebrate a decade of the V10

To mark ten years of the brand’s V10 power plant, Audi has revealed the limited-run Audi R8 Decennium

As the facelifted car hits showrooms, the Stuttgart marque has unveiled the R8 Decennium (meaning decade in Latin), celebrating ten years of the V10 engine. Limited to just 222 units, the special-edition coupe features exclusive design tweaks, setting it apart from the standard car.

As well as the matt ‘Daytona Gray’ colour pictured, five other shades including silver, black and blue can also be optioned. Bronze highlights can be found throughout, with the 20-inch wheels finished in matt bronze, as is the V10’s intake manifold. To contrast, the front splitter, side gills, diffuser and exterior badges are finished in gloss black, with the side blades and mirror caps in carbonfibre.

Continuing the theme inside, the all-black interior is highlighted with copper-coloured contrast stitching, matching the wheels and intake manifold. The gear selector, steering wheel and armrests are also finished in Alcantara and there’s most certainly no shortage of carbon in the cabin. To make sure you don’t forget what model you’re in, a matt ‘Decennium’ logo is set into contrasting gloss carbon in the centre console – logos can also be seen in the doors, the door sills and in the puddle light projection, complete with the individual number of each car.

Featuring the brand’s glorious 5.2-litre, 610bhp naturally aspirated V10, the R8 Decennium can sprint from 0 to 62mph in just 3.1sec and on to a top speed of 206mph, matching the standard V10 Plus. Considering the lack of turbochargers and hybrid technology in the range, the brand’s V10 has come a long way since it debuted in 2009 with an output of 525bhp.

The limited-run model will be available from spring this year. Prices start from around £190,000, which includes a car cover complete with bronze ‘Decennium’ embroidery. Nice.
