Standard equipment on both cars includes multiple driver select modes, an 8-inch instrument cluster and run flat tyres.

Options include paint stripes at £550 each, or gloss black 20-inch wheels for £940. Magnetic ride control and a dual-mode exhaust can be specified for £1460.

The new Camaro is actually priced slightly above the Ford Mustang, which costs from £28,995 for the 2.3-litre EcoBoost model. The V8 Mustang is £32,995.

The Camaro will be left hand drive in the UK and sold in limited numbers, with a build allocation of just 15 coupes and 3 convertibles for 2015.
