Reborn Lancia Stratos gets Alitalia rally livery

The reborn Lancia Stratos HF supercar gains historic Alitalia rally livery

New Lancia Stratos in Alitalia rally delivery

Since the rebirth of the Lancia Stratos earlier in the year (review of the new supercar here), we’ve been waiting for a motorsport-ready version. And here it is – sort of.  A scale model of the New Stratos has been produced in the original’s signature Alitalia rally livery, right down to the yellow alloys and door sponsors. Its predecessor’s pop-up headlights have been replaced by some menacing yellow-lens units, but the bonnet-mounted foglights remain. If possible, it’s dripping in cool even more than its road-going sibling. Of course, it’s not ready to race just yet. But surely the team behind New Stratos wouldn’t just tease us with an image… With the same performance as its Ferrari 430 Scuderia-based donor, it would be blinding on the stages – its 533bhp 4.3-litre V8 sees the 1.2-ton supercar to 62mph in 3.3sec and 124mph in 9.7sec, with top speed limited to 170mph. Alas, none of those numbers come close to matching new World Rally regulations. If you want to buy a New Stratos and help make the Alitalia replica a reality, make sure to register your interest at the car’s official websiteRead our New Stratos review here Gallery of New Stratos images here
