Morgan Eva GT unveiled

Morgan has revealed the Eva GT at the Pebble Beach Concours event. View the full gallery here.

Morgan has unveiled the Eva GT at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. And the good news is that it’s a bit of a looker. That may be a matter of personal taste and there’s always the chance that elements of the design may not make it through to production, but to us it has the look of a car that’s close to being the finished article. What sets the Eva GT apart is not only the absence of any running boards, but the four seat layout. This isn’t a first for Morgan of course, but given the coupe bodystyle we’d expect the Eva GT to follow in the footsteps of the TVR Cerbera and Aston Martin DB9 and offer limited rear legroom.

In a continuing partnership with BMW, Morgan has gained access to the 302bhp  3.0-litre twin turbo straight six, mated to either six speed manual or auto gearboxes. With a predicted weight of 1250kg, the torque-rich engine should endow the Eva GT with a 0-60mph of 4.5secs and a 170mph top speed.

Perhaps more interestingly, Morgan expects a combined fuel economy figure of over 40mpg, with CO2 emissions kept below 200g/km and compliance with Euro VI regulations.

We’ll bring you pics from Pebble Beach as they become available.
