Morgan Plus Four LM62 limited edition celebrates anniversary of Le Mans triumph

Special Edition Morgan to celebrate 60 years since its class win at Le Mans

Morgan has revealed a limited edition variant of its Plus Four roadster that celebrates the 60th anniversary of its class win at Le Mans in 1962. The new model differs from standard Plus Four roadsters with the inclusion of a variety of bespoke elements inside and out, and is available now priced from £78,995.

Bespoke to the Morgan Plus Four LM62 are two heritage colour options including Jet Green – the colour used on TOK 258, the actual racer – and Tetre Rouge, a popular colour amongst other Morgan racing cars in the era. To this, Morgan has fitted a retro-inspired graphics package, featuring a number 29 livery that was also found on the original racer. There’s also a Heritage White hardtop, silver-painted wire wheels and a racing-style fuel filler cap. The overall effect is something that takes inspiration from the 1962 racer, but is presented in a more contemporary style – for a Morgan, anyway.

This joins a collection of details available on standard Plus Fours, including a body-coloured windscreen frame, additional spotlights, a black front splitter and an active sports exhaust with black exhaust tips. Optional extras include a folding soft top and an LM62 accessories pack that includes two-eared wheel spinners, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, headlight tape, and a chrome interior rear-view mirror.

Inside, the standard leather seats are trimmed in black Saddle leather with a horizontal ribbed pattern and contrasting stitching matched to the exterior paint colour. The dash-top and centre console are finished with Tawny wood inserts and bespoke details including a numbered plaque and bespoke embroidery on the headrests.

The LM62 doesn’t feature any bespoke powertrain or chassis upgrades, and shares the same BMW-sourced turbocharged 2-litre four-cylinder engine combined with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic.

Morgan will build a total of 62 units for global markets in right and left hand drive. Prices in the UK will start at £78,995, a £16,595 premium over the standard Plus Four.
