Updated Mitsubishi Evo X

Tweaks to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X rally replica saloon are announced

Mitsubishi has freshened up the Evo X sports saloon.

The changes are relatively minor, and for the Japanese market only so far. They consist of new, more prominent side skirts, a restyled front bumper (featuring new plastics that save 1.5kg) and a bit of a refresh inside, with a new colour LCD screen placed between the speedo and rev counter to display car information in a more modern way than before.

There’s also a slightly plusher interior with tweaked detailing and extra sound deadening to boost the refinement levels. On the same tack, seemingly, is Mitsubishi’s decision to drop the manual gearbox option from the range-topping Evo X GSR in Japan, only offering its twin-clutch SST transmission.

It comes a week after Subaru announced its Japan-only Impreza STI Carbon edition, which is also available as an automatic only.
