Mercedes CLS

A makeover for the CLS range from Mercedes

Mercedes has done a mini-makeover job on the CLS. The flagship model in the range – the 514bhp CLS 63 AMG – now comes with 19-inch light-alloy wheels plus a new AMG sports exhaust system which, claims the company, gives the vehicle a more 'captivating soundtrack'.

At the front, there's a modified radiator grille. At the rear a new apron is used, along with modified oval tailpipes. LED lighting technology is deployed, front and rear. Although claimed to be more responsive than conventional lighting, the real bonus of LEDs is their versatility. In this case it means the exterior mirrors (like the side indicators) resemble arrows when illuminated.

Inside there’s a restyled leather steering wheel in a three-spoke design with multifunction buttons, a new-look white-dialled instrument cluster and change of wood trim to chestnut.

Launch will be in April and prices will be announced shortly.
