The first picture of the new Mercedes CLA45 AMG sports saloon has been revealed

The Mercedes CLA45 AMG sports saloon has been unveiled for the first time, albeit in computerised form. It was unveiled as Sony announced its new Playstation 4 games console, with the CLA45 among the cars in a new driving game, Driveclub. It will also be joined in Driveclub by its hatchback brother, the Mercedes A45 AMG, which has already been revealed in real life and debuts at March’s Geneva motor show. The CLA45 AMG is essentially a four-door spin-off, and which premieres at April’s New York motor show. It will use the same 355bhp/332lb ft 2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the most powerful regular production engine of its type yet. It drives all four wheels through a seven-speed twin-clutch automatic gearbox. The A45 AMG is capable of an electronically limited 155mph top speed, which the CLA will replicate, while the saloon’s slippier, more aerodynamic shape might help it shade the A45’s 4.6sec sprint to 62mph. It will cost more, with a pricetag close to £40,000 likely. Getting hold of it on Driveclub will, we reckon, prove a little cheaper.
